How Spotify Monetization Works With Flightcast

Spotify monetization depends on how your show is connected, the program available to it and Spotify's review. Use the show's status in Flightcast to follow the process.

Review the show-level settings

Open your podcast's Settings → Monetization and look for the Spotify monetization section. Review any readiness requirements before requesting monetization.

Where the request option is available, complete the information requested and submit it. Access to the workspace's Monetize area is separate: it depends on your role and account setup, rather than a universal Spotify listening threshold.

Spotify publishes separate application paths for shows hosted on Spotify for Creators, Megaphone and participating third-party hosts. Check the current Spotify Partner Program requirements for your route. Do not apply the Spotify-for-Creators thresholds to every Flightcast connection. A programmatic ad opt-in is not confirmation of every Partner Program benefit.

Understand the status

  • Request sent: your choice has been saved, but Spotify has not yet moved the show into review or an active state.
  • In review: Spotify is assessing the show.
  • Earning or active: the monetization connection is active.
  • Paused: monetization is paused.
  • Not approved: Spotify has not approved the show for the available program.

A saved or syncing message is not the same as approval. Recheck the status rather than assuming that another submission is needed.

Keep appropriate ad slots on episodes you intend to monetize, and review any episode-specific readiness messages. Slot and playback behavior depends on the connection and ad format. Spotify’s eligible Premium video streams in participating markets play without dynamic ads. Audio episodes and sponsorships already recorded into an episode can still carry ads; Premium is not a universal exemption. See Spotify’s video monetization guidance.

If you are moving an existing show

Check the migration plan for your current Spotify connection before changing hosting or removing an existing feed. Previous monetization does not guarantee automatic resubmission, immediate approval or uninterrupted earnings. Ask Flightcast to confirm the route for your show if its existing status does not carry over as expected.

Review revenue and payouts

Where Flightcast receives Spotify payouts for your show, an authorized workspace owner or admin should complete the available payout onboarding and review Spotify statements in Monetize.

Flightcast does not retain a platform fee from Spotify payouts unless separately agreed in writing. The Terms of Service describe remittance generally within seven days after Flightcast actually receives the payout, subject to the terms and valid payment details. This is not a fixed date after the month in which earnings occurred. See section 5 of the Terms of Service.

An earnings estimate is separate from money received and paid out. Check the statement, payment status and applicable payout requirements before treating an estimated date or amount as final.
