Customize an episode for different platforms

Use one main episode as the starting point, then customize only the supported details for destinations that are connected and available to your show. Select the destinations you intend to publish to; uploading a file alone does not send it everywhere.

Start with the main episode

Add the main title, description, chapters and supported media. A video episode can supply audio from its video; an audio-only episode can use an audio upload without a video.

Customize supported fields

In the editor, use Customize where the control is shown for a connected, available destination. Per-destination overrides are supported for title, description and chapters. A disabled or empty override uses the Main content.

  • Title and description: enter a destination-specific version, then check links and formatting in that destination's preview.
  • Chapters: review timing for the audio or video version. To insert the list in a description, include the exact [FLIGHTCAST_CHAPTERS] placeholder in that destination's description. Without the placeholder, the chapter list is not inserted automatically.

Media and release time use separate controls in Episode Media and the publishing settings where available; they are not title, description or chapter overrides. A media selection does not establish that a separate thumbnail control exists for every destination. Check the artwork in the review.

Review and publish

For a new episode, choose Review & Publish or Review & Schedule where shown. Inspect each destination's content, media, artwork, date and warnings, then complete Publish or Schedule Publish. For live or scheduled content, follow the save-state feedback and use Review Changes → Publish Edits where available.

The review is for the saved version shown in the preview. If you edit afterward, save and run the review again before confirming. Older episodes can show different controls.

Confirm that each override affects only the intended destination. Media replacement on published content can have different results by provider. A Flightcast-managed YouTube replacement creates a new video and URL, makes the old one private and starts at zero views; the reviewed path does not replace an imported YouTube video.

After confirming, check each destination's status and link. Saving customized fields does not by itself mean changes are live.
