Add a tracking prefix URL

A tracking prefix is added before episode media URLs in your RSS feed so an analytics or attribution provider can measure requests. It is different from your podcast’s RSS feed URL and from a hosting redirect.

Only use the exact prefix supplied by a provider you have chosen to use. A broken prefix can stop listeners from reaching episode media.

  1. Select the correct podcast and open its distribution or RSS settings.
  2. Find Prefix URLs and choose the add-prefix control.
  3. Paste the full HTTPS prefix supplied by your provider.
  4. Check for typos and confirm that you have not pasted an RSS feed or an example URL.
  5. Save the change.
  6. Check that an episode’s media still opens from the RSS feed and that the provider receives the expected test request.

Flightcast supports up to three prefix URLs. If you use more than one, confirm the order and compatibility with the providers before saving.

A prefix can send listener-request information to its provider. Review the provider’s terms and your privacy disclosures before enabling it. If playback stops after a change, contact support with the prefix provider and the affected episode; do not redirect or delete the whole feed as a workaround.
