How to Claim Your Spotify for Creators Show Using Flightcast

Claiming an existing show in Spotify for Creators gives the signed-in Spotify account administrative access to that listing. It does not move hosting to Spotify or require a new copy of your show.

Before you start

Find the public Spotify show URL and confirm that it is your existing listing. If another account has already claimed the show, ask its administrator to invite you. Spotify allows a show to be claimed once; creating a duplicate will not recover access or combine followers.

Check Owner Email in Flightcast and confirm which email address is actually included in the show’s RSS feed. The feed address is public, and Spotify sends its verification code there, so use an address you can access. Author Email is separate; setting it alone does not update the RSS verification address. If you edit Owner Email, save it and allow the feed to refresh before requesting a code.

Claim the existing listing

  1. Select your podcast in Flightcast and review its general podcast details. Correct any required metadata, particularly the feed contact email and author information.
  2. Copy the RSS feed URL from Flightcast, or use the existing Spotify show URL. If the copyable feed is unavailable, check your active subscription and onboarding progress; feed access and episode publication are separate checks.
  3. Open Spotify for Creators and sign in to the Spotify account you want to use.
  4. Start the add-show flow, choose Find an existing show, then Somewhere else for a show hosted outside Spotify.
  5. Enter the RSS or Spotify show URL. Check that the returned title and artwork identify the correct show before continuing.
  6. Request the verification email. Spotify sends an eight-digit code to the email in the RSS feed.
  7. Enter the code in Spotify for Creators and finish its prompts. Confirm that the existing show appears in your account.

If verification fails

For missing-email or author errors, correct the corresponding feed metadata. Spotify says recognition of a changed email in an externally hosted feed can take a couple of hours; if the new email is still not recognized after four hours, contact Spotify support. See Spotify’s RSS email guidance. This timing is for email recognition, not a general publication deadline. A show that cannot load may also have an incomplete connection or failed distribution; check Flightcast’s Spotify status and published episodes before changing anything.

If you are changing hosts, update the existing listing’s feed separately. Do not choose a new-show or Spotify-hosting flow when your goal is only to claim access.
