A custom VAST tag lets an outside ad provider supply programmatic ads to your podcast. First have the provider configuration added to Flightcast; then choose where that configured provider should be used.
Choose an existing provider configuration
- Open your podcast's Settings → Monetization.
- Find Programmatic Ad Serving.
- Review the assignments for pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll.
- Select a configured tag for each roll type you want to change, or choose Automatic to use the default configuration.
- Save your changes, then check the saved assignments.
These settings choose the ad source. The episode must also have a matching slot that allows programmatic ads. Review the episode's Ad Slots settings if you have assigned a provider but do not see delivery.
Add a new custom provider
If the provider you need is not in the list, contact or use the in-app support route to request a new configuration.
Include the podcast, provider name and the roll types you want to use. Ask how to supply the provider's tag and any required setup details securely; do not include account passwords or API secrets in an ordinary support message.
Adding a new provider is separate from selecting an existing tag. Complete that setup before assigning the tag to your podcast, and confirm any setup requirements or charges before proceeding.
Check results and payment
Review delivery and historical fill after changing providers. A valid tag can still return no ad for a request, so a custom provider does not guarantee higher fill or earnings.
Your custom VAST provider pays you directly under your agreement with it. Flightcast can show estimates for this source, but those estimates are separate from Flightcast-paid revenue. Reconcile them with the provider's reporting and payment statements.
