Video-ad availability depends on the destination, show setup, episode media and campaign configuration. Uploading a creative or creating a campaign does not by itself make a video ad available to serve.
Confirm Spotify video-ad eligibility
- Check that the podcast uses Spotify Distribution and the Direct Sales ad path. A legacy Spotify listing, Megaphone connection or ability to publish native video does not establish Spotify video-ad access.
- Confirm Flightcast Ads and the separate Video Ads setting are enabled for the show, and that Spotify has enabled video ads for the account/show.
- Use an eligible video episode with a video creative that has finished processing.
- Make sure the ad is approved and a matching ad break or slot is configured for the episode.
Spotify Partner Program or SPAN audio ads are separate from Direct Sales video ads. Do not promise video-ad delivery based only on a Spotify listing, an audio campaign or an accepted upload. Confirm the options available for the particular show before planning a campaign.
Add the creative to a campaign
- Open Ads and select an existing campaign, or create a campaign and advertiser record if the controls are available to your account.
- Review the campaign's podcast, dates, goal and targeting.
- Add an ad and choose the video creative option when it is available for that destination.
- Upload a file in the format and limits shown by the current campaign upload control. Follow any validation and processing messages; acceptance by the form does not guarantee approval or delivery.
- Choose a matching pre-roll, mid-roll or post-roll break, then verify the ad and creative status before activation.
Check delivery
An active campaign is eligible to serve; it does not guarantee an immediate insertion. Dates, targeting, pacing, ad approval, media readiness, available breaks and destination support all affect delivery. After launch, review reporting for the destination you intended to serve.
