Use this guide when Flightcast takes you through managed Spotify setup during onboarding. An existing Spotify connection may use a different setup path. If your screens do not match, check the show’s Podcast Settings → Integrations page and contact support before changing its feed or hosting.
For a hosting move, confirm your show’s migration plan with support before changing the RSS feed. Start with your existing Spotify show so its public listing and followers stay associated with the right podcast. Do not create a second listing, disconnect a working integration, or select Host with us in Spotify for Creators just to make a video option appear.
Before you start
Have access to the Spotify for Creators account that manages the show and to your current podcast host. Confirm the existing Spotify show URL and keep copies of your original media and available analytics exports.
After episode import and plan setup, onboarding guides you through the steps that apply to your show. If your podcast is set to audio-only in Flightcast, onboarding may skip the Spotify video steps. Follow the checks shown for your account rather than trying to force every step to appear.
1. Import your existing Spotify videos
When Flightcast finds your show, check the result before choosing Import & Continue. If there are several matches, select the correct one. Use Not your show? or paste your existing Spotify show link when the suggested match is wrong or no match appears.
If you have no Spotify content to import, use the available skip option. Skipping an import does not mean an existing Spotify listing should be recreated. Provide that listing’s URL when Flightcast asks for it later.
Follow the import status while the files are copied. Starting the import is not confirmation that every video is ready.
2. Review Spotify monetization
Answer whether the show currently earns money on Spotify. If onboarding asks you to authorize Flightcast to collect Spotify Partner Program earnings, review that authorization and the payout information before confirming.
Check who will receive the earnings and how they will reach your payout account. Moving a monetized show can affect monetization availability. If the terms or account shown do not match your expectations, contact support before agreeing. This setup step does not promise uninterrupted monetization or a particular payout date.
3. Verify the import before redirecting
Review Flightcast’s readiness checks and confirm the imported content is complete, including:
- Your RSS episodes have been imported
- Each episode has its required audio file
- Any Spotify videos selected for import have finished downloading
- Required historical analytics have been imported
Some hosts restrict historical analytics access after a redirect. Complete any required historical import first. Check the episodes and media you need, including upcoming releases, before proceeding.
If any episodes or media are missing or failed, contact support before redirecting even if the overall import task says it is complete. Continue when the applicable checks and your content review are ready. An import check passing is separate from Spotify’s final connection, monetization approval and publication status.
4. Claim the existing Spotify show if prompted
For a show hosted outside Spotify for Creators, onboarding may ask whether you have claimed its existing Spotify listing. If you already have access, use Yes, it’s already claimed. Otherwise, follow No, I need to claim it and complete Spotify for Creators’ claim process.
Use the existing show and the current RSS feed identified in onboarding. Complete Spotify’s verification, then return to Flightcast and choose I’ve claimed it — Continue. Claiming a listing does not require creating another one.
The Spotify-hosted branch may skip this step. Follow the path shown for your show; do not change its hosting merely to expose a claim control.
5. Redirect the old feed when your show is ready
Copy the Flightcast RSS feed URL shown in onboarding. At your old host, use its RSS redirect, 301 redirect or feed-forwarding setting to point the old feed to that verified Flightcast URL.
Flightcast checks for the redirect and enables the next step when it detects the required state. Use the status in Flightcast rather than the old tutorial’s Check redirect status step in Spotify for Creators. Detection and directory refresh can take time.
Keep the old feed and its redirect accessible while platforms update. Check your old host’s requirements before cancelling its service or removing any content. If a redirect is already in place, verify it rather than repeatedly changing the destination.
6. Complete the managed Spotify connection
Choose Start Spotify Setup when it is offered. If Flightcast asks for a Spotify show link, supply your existing listing’s URL. For a genuinely new podcast with no Spotify listing, follow Connect your show to Spotify instead.
Flightcast shows progress for connecting the show, syncing episodes and setting up video. If Explore the platform is offered, you can leave the setup screen while background work continues. That does not confirm Spotify is connected or ready to publish.
Once the connection is ready, review the intended Spotify video or audio version, release time and publishing settings. Check the destination status and public Spotify episode link before treating a release as live.
If setup needs attention
- Spotify is picking up your new feed: Spotify has not yet recognized the new feed. Follow the displayed status. Contact support if it remains unresolved or Flightcast asks you to take action.
- Spotify hasn’t picked up your new feed: check the existing show’s feed setting in Spotify for Creators against the verified Flightcast URL, then contact support. Do not create a replacement listing.
- Finishing up your Spotify setup: some work still needs attention. Follow the message and check each publishing destination separately before relying on a scheduled release.
- A duplicate show appears: contact support with both show URLs. Do not delete either listing yourself.
After a migration, the older Spotify analytics feed can stop while current activity moves to Flightcast’s current integration. That cutoff alone is not a reason to reconnect. If dates are missing, support can check the current reporting source.
