Use this guide to submit a show that is new to Apple Podcasts. If your show is already listed, claim the existing show or update its RSS feed when changing hosts. Enabling Apple HLS video is a separate setup and does not require a second show.
Prepare your feed
- Select your podcast in Flightcast and review its general podcast details. Complete the required metadata, add suitable show artwork, and check the contact information.
- Publish at least one episode or trailer to the public RSS feed. An uploaded or scheduled draft is not enough.
- Open Podcast Settings → Directories → Apple Podcasts and copy the RSS feed URL. If feed access is unavailable, check your active subscription and onboarding progress. RSS access can become available at the redirect or linking stage before every onboarding step is finished.
- Check the feed against Apple’s RSS requirements. Fix validation errors at their source in Flightcast.
Submit a new show
- Open Apple Podcasts Connect and sign in to the account that should manage the show.
- Choose New Show, then Add a show with an RSS feed. Paste the Flightcast RSS URL and add the show.
- Wait for Apple to process the feed. Review the imported title, artwork and episodes, and resolve any validation messages.
- Complete Apple’s content-rights confirmation and contact details. Set the update frequency where requested.
- Review Availability, including the countries or regions and release timing you want. Save the settings and follow Apple’s current publication prompts.
- Check the show’s review status and Apple’s status emails. Submitting or clicking Publish does not make the show immediately available; approval and release settings still apply.
- Once Apple provides the public show URL, open it to confirm the listing. Save that Apple URL in Flightcast’s Apple Podcasts directory field. Saving it records the link; it does not connect Apple HLS video.
If the show or an episode is missing
Check approval, release timing and regional availability first. For a missing episode, confirm that it is published in the feed Apple currently reads. Updates often appear within a few hours. If an RSS episode remains missing after 24 hours, check for feed errors, blocking tags or duplicate episode GUIDs and media URLs. Use Refresh Feed in Apple Podcasts Connect after checking the source; follow Apple’s refresh guidance if changes still do not appear.
During a host migration, preserve the existing show and episode identities and complete the old-feed redirect or Apple feed update. Repeatedly submitting a new show is not a safe way to fix a delay.
