Start with one main video for the episode, then review its audio and destination settings. The episode stays a draft until you complete publication review and confirmation.
Upload and prepare the episode
You need permission to create episodes for this show. If the option is missing, ask a workspace owner to check your access.
- Select the correct podcast. Choose New Episode, Blank Episode, a template available for the show, or the existing draft you want to use.
- Upload the video in Episode Media. Follow the file types, size limits and validation shown by the current upload control; an accepted file still needs to finish processing.
- Wait for media preparation and follow any readiness messages. Uploading and processing are separate steps.
- Add the title, description, artwork and optional episode metadata. Add or review chapters and check their timing.
Check the audio and destination details
Flightcast can prepare audio from the video. If your editor offers a separate audio file, use it when the podcast audio has different edits, then review its description and chapters.
In the revisioned editor, per-destination overrides apply only to supported title, description and chapter fields for destinations available in your show. A disabled or empty override uses the Main content. Media and schedule controls are separate; follow the controls actually shown for your episode.
Check the artwork shown in the review. A media override does not establish that a separate thumbnail control is available for every destination. Review generated titles, descriptions or chapters before applying them.
Select destinations and timing
Enable only intended destinations. YouTube needs a connected channel, linked playlist and video. Spotify needs its publishing setup ready; RSS supplies the selected audio to apps using your feed. A missing prerequisite can block publication even if a destination switch is on.
Set the main release date and supported destination-specific dates. Check the displayed time zone, which uses the podcast's time zone when available and a local fallback.
Review and confirm
Choose Review & Publish or Review & Schedule where shown. Inspect each destination's preview, media, content, artwork, dates and warnings. Resolve blocking messages, then complete Publish or Schedule Publish.
The review is for the saved version shown in its preview. If you make further edits, save them and run the review again before confirming. Older episodes may use different labels.
After submitting, inspect each status and any attention message, then open the destination links to verify the result. A media replacement can have different consequences by provider; for Flightcast-managed YouTube it creates a new URL, makes the old video private and starts at zero views. Read the replacement warning before confirming.
