Publishing an episode means preparing the content, choosing destinations and timing, reviewing the saved version, then confirming the release. Saving a draft, uploading media or opening a preview does not publish it.
Prepare the episode
You need permission to create episodes for this show. If the option is missing, ask a workspace owner to check your access.
- Select the correct podcast. Choose New Episode, Blank Episode, a template available for the show, or the existing draft you want to publish.
- In Episode Media or Episode Audio, add the supported media. An audio-only episode does not need video. Follow file types, size limits and validation shown by the upload control; accepted files still need to finish processing.
- Add the title, description, artwork, chapters and any optional metadata. Review generated content before applying it.
- Wait for media preparation and follow destination readiness messages. Upload and processing are separate; finishing processing does not publish an unconfirmed draft.
Choose destinations and timing
Open the episode's publishing controls and enable only intended destinations. RSS supplies the episode to apps using your feed. YouTube requires a video, connected channel and linked playlist. Spotify requires a ready publishing setup.
Choose Now or a future release time. Check the displayed time zone; Flightcast uses the podcast's time zone when available, with a local fallback. If your editor offers separate destination schedules, review each one.
Use the revisioned editor's Customize controls only for supported title, description and chapter overrides on destinations available for your show. Disabled or empty overrides use the Main content. Media and schedule controls are separate; follow the options shown for this episode.
Review and confirm
Choose Review & Publish or Review & Schedule where shown. Inspect each destination's content, selected media, artwork, date and warnings, then complete the final Publish or Schedule Publish confirmation.
The review is for the saved version shown in the preview. If you edit afterward, save and run the review again before confirming. Older editor versions may use different labels.
Check each destination's status and attention messages after submission, then open the destination links to verify the episode. Saving a draft or submitting a request alone does not confirm that every platform is live.
