Set up and use Clips in Flightcast

Clips can turn an eligible episode into short videos. Creating clips, generating them automatically and uploading them to YouTube are separate steps.

Create your first clips

  1. Open Clips for the correct podcast and check the available episode credits.
  2. Select an eligible episode and follow the clip-generation action shown in your account.
  3. Check any media-availability message. Flightcast can use compatible stored video, prepared video or a supported linked YouTube source, depending on the workflow. Importing the video first is not required for every case.
  4. Wait for generation to finish, then preview the clips before sharing them. Use Download when you want to publish a clip yourself elsewhere.

One credit covers a selected episode, rather than one individual clip. The normal monthly allowances are one episode credit on Pro and four on Legend. Your in-app balance reflects your account’s current allowance and any account-specific offer.

Turn on generation automation

If Auto-generate Clips is available, enable it separately from uploading. Automatic selection looks for the most recent eligible published episode from the last 14 days, with source media and no existing clip-generation job. Available credits and subscription status still apply. It does not guarantee that every episode or your back catalog will be clipped.

Connect an upload destination

In the Clips YouTube settings, connect a channel you control and verify the selected channel before enabling Auto-upload. A separate clips channel is a choice; naming or creating a channel does not generate clips by itself.

Choose an upload frequency: four, three, two or one clip per day; every two or three days; or weekly. Starting with a modest frequency gives you time to check quality and the channel’s response. No frequency guarantees protection from YouTube restrictions or bans.

Auto-upload needs a connected channel, an active subscription and clips ready in the queue. Check generation and upload statuses separately if a clip has not appeared. Avoid repeated manual upload attempts while the outcome is unclear. Review the clip, captions and channel before sharing, and use content you have permission to publish.
