Submitting Your Podcast to Apple Podcasts and Other Platforms

Use this launch checklist to get a new podcast onto Apple Podcasts and the other listening platforms you choose. Prepare the feed once, then complete and verify each destination separately.

Prepare a public episode

Publish at least one episode to your RSS feed before submitting. If the full show is not ready, a published trailer can introduce the podcast and provide the first episode. Complete the required show details and artwork, and confirm that the feed is publicly accessible.

In Flightcast, select your podcast and open Podcast Settings → Directories. A missing copyable feed can mean onboarding has not reached the RSS redirect/linking stage or an active subscription is needed. A locked directory area separately requires an episode published to RSS.

Start with Apple Podcasts

  1. Search Apple Podcasts for your show before creating anything. For an existing listing, use the claim or feed-update route instead of submitting it again.
  2. For a genuinely new show, open Apple Podcasts in Flightcast’s directory list and copy the Flightcast RSS feed URL.
  3. Open Apple Podcasts Connect, choose New Show → Add a show with an RSS feed, and enter that feed URL.
  4. Review the imported show, resolve validation errors and complete Apple’s content-rights, contact and availability settings. Follow the publication prompts and check Apple’s review status.
  5. After Apple provides the listing, copy its public Apple Podcasts show URL. Open it to verify the correct show, then save that Apple URL in Flightcast’s directory field.

The RSS URL submits the show’s content to Apple. The public Apple URL takes listeners to its listing and is the link you save back in Flightcast.

Add other destinations

Open each desired platform in Directories and follow its current instructions. Check for an existing listing or configured integration first. Platforms can require different accounts, metadata, rights checks and review steps; a submission on Apple does not submit the show everywhere.

Keep a simple record of each destination’s submitted, approved and publicly available status, together with its show URL. A saved Flightcast link is useful bookkeeping, but verify availability on the destination itself. Video distribution may need additional setup or approval.

If you are moving an existing podcast to Flightcast, preserve its episode GUIDs and follow the old host’s redirect and destination feed-update steps. Keep the established listings rather than repeating this new-show launch process.
