Where Audio Ads Play in Flightcast

An audio creative can be used on eligible audio delivery paths, including supported podcast downloads and streams. What the listener sees while it plays depends on the episode format, player and destination.

Audio downloads and streaming

For an audio-only episode, an eligible audio ad is delivered as audio within the supported playback path. The campaign still needs a matching slot, active dates, suitable targeting and a ready creative.

Reporting may identify native delivery as RSS Download or RSS Streaming. RSS Download covers downloaded or progressively downloaded audio. RSS Streaming describes segment-based streaming; the label alone does not mean that video was shown.

Audio ads during video playback

Flightcast video playback can use a visual bumper while an audio-only ad plays. The appearance in a particular listening app may differ, so do not promise a specific overlay, cover image or message to an advertiser without checking that player.

A video campaign has its own creative requirements. An audio file alone does not satisfy Spotify's video-ad requirement.

Spotify

Audio-ad availability and reporting depend on the show's Spotify connection and the ad program used. Review the connection and campaign settings for the show rather than assuming that every Spotify listing has the same delivery behavior.

Spotify Premium is not a blanket ad exemption. Audio podcasts can contain Spotify ads and creator sponsorships. Eligible Premium video streams in participating markets play without dynamic ads, while sponsorships already recorded into the episode can remain. See Spotify’s podcast playback guidance.

Other destinations

A podcast being listed in an RSS app does not prove that the app supports every Flightcast ad format or visual treatment. Confirm the destination relevant to your campaign.

Treat YouTube's own advertising and sponsorships already recorded into the episode as separate from Flightcast dynamic campaign delivery. Review delivery reports for the destination you actually sold, and avoid counting a distribution listing as evidence of ad delivery.
