Use this guide to check the playlist, eligibility and timing of an automatic YouTube-to-podcast workflow.
Connect the right content
Open Podcast Settings → Integrations for the show. Check the YouTube channel and the single podcast playlist linked to Flightcast. Depending on your setup, you can connect an existing playlist or create and populate a Flightcast playlist using selected source playlists or channel uploads.
YouTube Shorts are excluded from playlist imports. Videos Flightcast cannot read or classify may also be skipped or retried. Use public, non-Short videos from the connected channel for the supported setup.
Keep the linked playlist limited to content you intend to distribute. Do not rely on a video’s private or unlisted status to prevent it from syncing; filtering differs across setup paths. Ask support to check your setup if the playlist contains content that must stay private.
Check publishing access
You need an active subscription, permission to publish, a valid YouTube connection and an eligible Spotify publishing setup. Your show may use legacy Spotify, Megaphone or Spotify Distribution. Follow the connection shown for your show rather than changing providers to make the sync option appear.
YouTube to Podcast is listed with Pro and Legend. Check the current plan details and the settings available in your account.
Enable the intended scope
- Open YouTube to Podcast Sync in Integrations.
- Choose going-forward syncing for eligible episodes after the date and time you enable it, or full-catalog syncing for existing and future eligible episodes. If your setup includes a backlog release pace, check that schedule too.
- Check the preview and destinations. A video added to the playlist today may still be an older episode for cutoff purposes.
- Complete the final confirmation. If full catalog is enabled, older eligible episodes are included even when going-forward sync is also on.
Follow the result
The settings describe a content check every six hours. Media import, processing and destination delivery can take additional time, and analytics refresh is separate. A completed check is not a promise that every destination is already live.
For a missing episode, confirm its playlist membership, public visibility, eligibility and catalog scope. Then inspect the episode’s processing and destination status. If those checks do not explain the result, send support the episode and relevant status message rather than disconnecting or recreating the show.
